Across the water to Inchmahome

That would've been one chilly swim...

Castle Campbell (aka Castle Gloom)

The stout and near-windowless tower where I'd imagined Magda would've been taken.

View from roof of Castle Campbell

AKA Castle Gloom.  You can see the terraced land where I'd envisioned the paddocked horse and Magda's escape.

The Tolbooth

The Sgurr pitchstone

On the Isle of Eigg.

Henbane

Also known archaically as henbell.

Loch Tay

It truly is warm enough for swimming!  The The Breadalbane/Perthshire tourist web site
claims:  "The prevailing winds blow from the south west here and it
traps warm surface water on Loch Tay in a shallow bay at the east end.
The water is no more than a couple of yards deep for a long way out. As
a result the water can be quite warm."

Inchmahome Priory warming house

This room and the kitchen would've been the warmest places on the island.  With low ceilings and a huge fireplace, heat is the only purpose of this room.

Inchmahome Priory

One of my very favorite places in the world.  The ruins of this Augustinian priory are located on an island in Lake Menteith.
