race to the finish

As you all know, I've got a tight deadline (June 1).  And our lovely Sarah is working on the second book in her series.  The gauntlet is thrown, folks.  We're going to jam every day, 1500 words a day, till we're done.  Isn't that right, Sarah?!  ;)

I'm at 10K and counting...  No, GO!

Did you mena "now go"? LOL, I think my typing is coming off onto you. LOL!

So, 1500 words a day huh? You make a tuff deal, let's just hope you keep going on vacations!! ; )

I am at 9,638 words. I am hot on your trail V, you better watch out!

Anyone else going to join us?

~Sarah~

HA!!! Whoops! I sure did mean that! Thanks, Sarah. :)

Enjoy ladies!!! It sounds like fun. I am currently working on a Power Point presentation that is to last 15 minutes on "Agricultural Scenes in Ancient Egyptian Art". Then a 5000 word essay of the "Role of Women in Ancient Egypt" so please at present count me out. LOL You go girls!! Yeehaa!! xoxoxo

Gayle

Gayle, so glad you popped in and said hello! We have missed you! The work you are doing sounds very interesting. I hope it goes well! Keep us posted.

~Sarah~

Sounds cool, Gayle!!!! Good luck!

How many words Veronica?

~Sarah~

Okay, not fair. I've got 17,700, but just got my copyedits for Devil's Highlander, so have to stop writing for a couple days... How about you?!

Not as much as you. Between trying to find a job and my mom going into the hospital, I was slagging behind. I am defiantely going to use the oppertunity to catch you though. How is the judging going? Are you done with those yet?

~Sarah~

Oh no, Sarah! How is your mom??? I had no idea. Sending you good wishes across the ether...

The judging is complete, as are my copyedits!! And I'm FINALLY back to normal. ;) So get going, girl. I'm at 17K, and ready to put the pedal to the metal.

Well, I am recovered from the flu I think, and my mother is doing much better, thank you! She has atrial fibulations which means the top part of her heart quivers. (notice I am not a doctor.) WIth the high blood pressure and that, it mimiced a heart attack. SHe is on meds to help her. With Andy and I both looking for jobs, things here have been slow. I am only at 10K so you are way past me. BUT- that doesn't mean I have laid down yet. It's time to get back in the saddle and race towards the finish.

~Sarah~

Back in the saddle, Hoss. I'm so happy to hear your mom is on the mend, and you're feeling better too. I'm also ready to get back in the saddle, though it's been an insane week of to-do's and chores having nothing to do with writing...

Sometimes it has to happen, but why does it have to happen all at once? I guess that wouldn't be life, huh? LOL!

~Sarah~

Totally!

okay, Sarah. I'm closing in on 60! How are you doing?! Just coming up for air, before I disappear again for the final push... :)

Well, You aren't as far as I thought you would be, but you are way ahead of me. I lost time, when I couldn't get my book open, remember? I am back to writing and I have found two great books thanks to Lizzie. One is called the "Writer's Guide to character traits" and the other is "The Writer's Digest to Character Naming Sourcebook." Very useful books.

So, think you can get 35,000 words in one month?

~Sarah~

It always goes faster for me toward the end. (Thank goodness!) Glad you're back up and rolling!!

Thanks, me too. I'm really enjoying the two new books I got also. They are very helpful.

I hope you had a great Mother's Day!

~Sarah~

Hoss there better be some furious writing going on while you can't get on line! LOL! See you at the Library. Virtual that is.

V, I understand your disappearance just curious where your numbers are at now. LOL

Don't ask me about my numbers. I have not written a blessed word since mom passed.

Sarah glad those books are working out. Now where is that Pammy?

~Lizzie

Hi everyone! Sigh, yes, sorry to be scarce. I've been trying to moderate my internet stuff to make sure I keep up with my writing. Just crossed the 70K mark, and am hoping to finish by May 20, which is the random date I've set for myself (it's due June 1, but I like to have wiggle room...) Take it easy on yourself, Lizzie...give yourself time. Hugs--

70k! whoo-hoo! Go V, Go V, Go V. Thanks for giving Monica the heads up for me. :-)

And thanks for your words of encouragement. I am building up my courage to jump back in again. I will get myself there eventually. Your post about Bolero started me thinking. Because I have done the same thing. Hee-hee. Bad minds think alike.

It's okay if you are not around we completely understand. We are so rabid for more books we TOTALLY understand. :-)

~Lizzie

I am doing some writing and hopefull will have internet soon. Traveling to the library is a pain in the butt!

WTG Veronica, keep up the good work and I am sure you will hit your mark. That is awesome!

~Sarah~

Thanks for being so supportive as always, ladies. :) It means more than you know!!

Hi ladies. I have finished my final exam for the semester and will know the results Friday so I will let you know whether I am happy or disappointed. Actually anything over a pass will be a bonus. The last couple of weeks I've been up and down. I will get better.

I am glad you girls are having such a wonderful time.

Sarah you can do it!! I know you will finish your book soon!!

WTG V. You have an amazing self discipline. Good luck with the final push to the end.

I miss everyone, although I do know where to find you. It's getting here ... lol ... Love you all Talk soon. bye

Gayle

I agree Gayle, Veronica's discipline is great. I need a dose of it. I am not as faithful to writing when I have to put it to paper and I don't have a deadline. I need to have Veronica bottle up her motivation and sell me some! LOL!

Thanks Gayle for your encouragement. Even though I am a slow writer at this point, I am writing and researching as always!

~Sarah~

You re more than welcome, dear lady!! Slow or not, doesn't matter, you get there in the end and the journey is the main thing. As long as you enjoy it, do so. Life is there to be lived and writing is part of your life, so have fun with it!! lol, I give my permission if you want to go crazy in your writing ... lol

Gayle

Too funny Gayle, I will keep that in mind! I don't know if I will go crazy in my writing but I might do so in reality. It is busy over here with sports and school!

How is Life in Australia?
