Hey I wrote about your book on my Talk About My Favorite Authors blog. Check it out and if you can I would like to interview you about the book so I can post it on the blog. I have your website on the blog under My Favorite Authors so others can visit your site. And I like to think a lot of people read the blog since the site meter grows higher ever other day.

Hello Veronica! My name is Sónia and I live in Portugal. I found out about you recentely and I'm going to start reading "Master of the Highlands" today...I have a question, this one was the first book being released but i've read that the plot of "Sword of the Highlands" takes place some time before the plot on this one...so is there any timeline problem to read first "Master of the Highlands"?
Sorry for the confusion...

Hi Sonia! Welcome to my Forums! I'm so happy you're digging into Master of the Highlands. I hope you enjoy it! To answer your question, you can absolutely read Master first. In fact, in some ways, that makes more sense, since it's the first book I wrote! Historically, it predates my second book, but there is no reason to wait to read it. You'll have to let me know what you think!

Veronica...I loved the book...but I was so sad because of Robert, I understood why it happened but still...he reminds me of those good people who deserve good things happening to them but if something bad happens they won't scream or fight, they accept their fates as something that just has to happen and they don't blame anyone because that's the way things are...
I've ordered the next book, I hope it arrives soon!
Oh and merry christmas!! :)

Hi Sónia! I'm so glad you enjoyed the book. I know what you mean about Robert, but it's almost exactly what happened in the real history of Ewen Cameron and his clan. But you know, Robert has stuck with me, and I address his situation a little bit in my fourth book, Lord of the Highlands, coming in the fall of 2009. :)

Yay, more Robert! You're wetting my appetite lol...so the books' stories are connected? Do the characters from different books know each other?
Thank you for coming here and sharing your insights with us...it is really nice.
Enjoy christmas!!

Hi Sónia! I'm back. It's been a crazy, wonderful Christmas! I've been at my parents' house, with my family, and my younger brother and his girlfriend, and then my older brother surprised us by showing up Christmas night with his wife and boys. There are currently three 6-year old boys and a 7-year old girl in the house, and you can imagine I haven't gotten much time to peek into my Forums! LOL.
So, to answer your question... Books 2-4 all take place around the time of the Wars of the Three Kingdoms (aka the British Civil Wars). They predate Master of the Highlands by at least a decade. You'll see Ewen in book 2, Sword of the Highlands, as a 16-year old! Though the plots aren't interconnected at all, the characters do interact to varying degrees. James, in book 2, really did fight side-by-side with MacColla, who is the hero in book 3, and so on.
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
