Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I loved Indiana Jones 4! I know some people thought it was a disappointment but I thought it was great. Here is the description of the movie from the Indian Jones website:

The newest Indiana Jones adventure begins in the desert Southwest in 1957—the height of the Cold War. Indy and his sidekick Mac (Ray Winstone) have barely escaped a close scrape with nefarious Soviet agents on a remote airfield.

Now, Professor Jones has returned home to Marshall College—only to find things have gone from bad to worse. His close friend and dean of the college (Jim Broadbent) explains that Indy's recent activities have made him the object of suspicion, and that the government has put pressure on the university to fire him. On his way out of town, Indiana meets rebellious young Mutt (Shia LaBeouf), who carries both a grudge and a proposition for the adventurous archaeologist: If he'll help Mutt on a mission with deeply personal stakes, Indy could very well make on of the most spectacular archaeological finds in history—the Crystal Skull of Akator, a legendary object of fascination, superstition and fear.

But as Indy and Mutt set out for the most remote corners of Peru—a land of ancient tombs, forgotten explorers and a rumored city of gold—they quickly realize they are not alone in their search. The Soviet agents are also hot on the trail of the Crystal Skull. Chief among them is icy cold, devastatingly beautiful Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett), whose elite military unit is scouring the globe for the eerie Crystal Skull, which they believe can help the Soviets dominate the world...if they can unlock its secrets.

Indy and Mutt must find a way to evade the ruthless Soviets, follow an impenetrable trail of mystery, grapple withe enemies and friends of questionable motives, and, above all, stop the powerful Crystal Skull from falling into he deadliest of hands.

Well I went to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and I give it 2 thumbs up! I thought that is was funny and adventurious and it even though Harrison Ford aka Indy is older he isn't an old geezer that can't do adventurious things anymore. I also like the whole twist about Indy finding out he has a son played by Shia LeBeouf, who calls himself Mutt, but who is in actuality called Henry Jones III. I thought that Karen Allen aka Marion Ravenwood was also great. She looked her age and a bit different than when she was in the first movie but she was right up there with Indy and she did a great job.

I loved the tribute that was made for the characters such as Indy's father Dr. Henry Jones Sr. played by Sean Connery and Marcus Brody played by Denholm Elliott. I just can't get over the fact that Indiana Jones has a son but I do think that Shia LeBeouf played what I thought Indy's son would have been like when he had one. He is also a hottie and I would love to see him in more movies on his own. The ending was my favorite because it was all so surprising that the crystal skull belong to one of a group of 13 aliens that helped the people of the City of Gold to create a community of highly intelligent and advanced people. INDIANA FINALLY GETS MARRIADE! I can't believe it but I think it was the right ending because it closes everything nicely and Indiana Jones finally has a family with his wife Marion and his son Mutt.

I thought that it was a great movie and I don't know why there is so much hype about it being a bad movie and disappointing. I liked it very much and I will probably go see it again next weekend. I just guess everyone is entitled to there own opinions and not everyone is going to like the same movie. I just think that people shouldn't be influenced by bad reviews until you've actually given them a chance and see if it meets what you think personally is a good or bad movie.

Oooh, I can't wait to see this!!! I totally blame movies like the Indiana Jones series for me ending up living in India...

You really live in India now?

Oh no, I'm in California now! But I lived in India on two occasions: once in 1987 (I'm dating myself, huh?!) and then for a year in 1992-93.

Wow that must have been an experience since California is so different from what I expect India is like.

It was! A year of no shower, no toilet...it was intense. It took me months to feel okay about drinking tap water again. Greatest experience of my life, though.

I saw "Indiana Jones and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" today and loved it. The characters rang true from the earlier movies, the pacing was great, there were an amazing, inventive action sequences. And, having wanted Indy to end up with Marion ever since the first movie (which rather dampened my enjoyment of the second two), it was lovely to see them back together.

Cheers,
